 Westie Haven Sales Agreement and Spay/Neuter Contract

Seller’ Responsibility:

1. To the best of my, the breeder’s, knowledge, this puppy/dog is in good health (minus potential intestinal parasites) at the time of sale and of leaving the facility.  

All Westie Haven puppies are checked by our Veterinarian at 6 weeks old. They receive the appropriate shots, fecal test, deworming, and a full-body exam (ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, heart, etc.). Your puppy will come with a vaccine record to take to your Veterinarian, as well as microchip information.  

We highly recommend signing up with Trupanion or another pet health insurance that starts the day your puppy comes home.  

Puppies are to be vet checked within 30 business days of receiving them. If your puppy will attend a training course, you are responsible for coordinating a vet visit with the trainer. Puppy training fees are non-refundable.  

There is no trial period with your puppy. Buyers must be 100% sure before purchasing and taking the puppy from our facility. No refunds will be given if the buyer decides a healthy puppy needs to be returned due to changing circumstances. I cannot guarantee adult size or color, though I will use my breeding experience to offer professional advice on these factors, but changes may occur as the dog develops.  

Note: Umbilical hernias are not considered a health issue and can be addressed at the time of spay/neuter.* If the puppy/dog is not examined within the 30-day period, ANY guarantee is null and void. Please email a picture of the Veterinarian receipt to sjfrazier02@gmail.com.  

Trupanion Pet Health Insurance: All of our puppies go home with a Trupanion application, which must be activated by the buyer within 24 hours after receiving the puppy. You will receive an email with a link to sign up. We do not benefit from this company; this is simply a great way to protect your puppy during the first 30 days of transition. Trupanion offers reimbursement up to 90% beyond the $250 deductible for any non-preexisting illnesses. Trupanion does not cover preventative care.

I reserve the right not to sell to anyone for any reason.

Guarantee:

The Seller provides a warranty against debilitating congenital defects for two (2) years after the date of sale.  

Westie Haven Sires and Dams have been cleared of the most common diseases for their breed through our Vet and Paw Print Genetics. Every measure has been taken to breed healthy dogs.  

Debilitating congenital defects are defined as those present from birth that are life-threatening or prevent the puppy from fulfilling the intended purpose for which it was purchased.  

If a defect is identified within the warranty period, the Buyer may obtain a replacement puppy of equal or lesser value from the next available litter. The original puppy does not need to be returned, provided there is documentation of the defect. Replacement puppies may take 6-12 months to be available, and the Breeder will determine which puppy will be used for replacement.

Shipping fees will not be refunded, and any costs associated with shipping the replacement puppy will be the Buyer’s responsibility.  

If the puppy is euthanized or disposed of without a second opinion from the Seller’s veterinarian, the Buyer waives all rights to a replacement puppy.

Buyer’s Responsibility:

- The Buyer bears all costs relating to the sale of the animal, including transportation. The risk of loss or injury to the animal is on the Buyer after the puppy leaves the Seller.

- The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 30 business days of taking possession. Failure to do so voids the health warranty.  

- The Buyer must provide routine veterinary care, vaccinations, and deworming. The Buyer is responsible for spaying/neutering the puppy within 6-12 months and must provide proof to the Seller. All puppies are sold with a binding spay/neuter and health contract.  

If you cannot keep the puppy any longer, you must contact the Breeder to make arrangements for re-homing or returning the puppy. No refund will be given for relinquishing rights of ownership.

Additional Details:

- This contract also covers the avoidance of over-vaccination, unnecessary medications, and environmental risks like pesticides or poor-quality food, which may lead to certain health issues.

- Breeder is not responsible for issues related to bite, teeth, or temperament problems, accidental death, or biting caused by the new environment and care.

- Puppies are sold with NO BREEDING RIGHTS.
