Loyalty, Love And Westie Magic.
At Westie Haven, our family-run breeding program is dedicated to preserving the original roots of the West Highland White Terrier breed. We are committed to strengthening and improving the health and temperament of each litter, with all parent dogs undergoing genetic health testing. Our focus is on responsibly breeding Westies that are true to the breed's heritage, while ensuring the puppies are healthy and socialized.
Hello future Pawrents,
My name is Sterrnberg J. Frazier, and I’m the breeder and founder of Westie Haven. I want to share a little more about myself and the story behind this website.
Since childhood, breeding animals has always fascinated me. When I was 9 years old, I started with hamsters breeding, raising them, and finding loving families for each of my baby hamsters. It was my little “business,” and soon, many students at my school and people in my neighborhood had my beautiful hamsters. Bringing joy to these families by giving them an animal to love and care for brought me so much happiness.
For many years, I had a dream of adopting a special puppy and eventually breeding my own litters. In 2012, that dream came true! I adopted an adorable male West Highland White Terrier. He is a gorgeous dog, and many people with female Westies wanted to mate them with him. I supervised all of Maxi’s “brides’” litters and found new families for each of his puppies. I also adopted my own female Westie to mate with him.
In 2013, I decided to deepen my knowledge about breeding and completed a professional breeding school. This was an exciting new chapter in my life. I adopted one more female dog, applied for registration with The Academy of Pet Careers (APC), and started visiting dog shows. At my first show, I was invited to be a steward, helping the experts with dogs in the show and exhibition. I loved this role because it allowed me to learn a lot about the APC system, breeding, and the standards of each breed. I even started to dream of becoming an APC expert myself.
To become an expert’s apprentice, I needed to steward 20 times within a year. I traveled all over Ukraine with my dogs, showing them and stewarding, but when I finally reached my 20th steward certificate and applied for the apprenticeship, the passing age was raised from 18 to 25 years old. Although I was disappointed, I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason, so I decided to focus on breeding.
In 2014, I earned my APC breeding certificate. Initially, I wanted to name my breeding program “INU” in honor of my dog, but that wasn’t allowed. Instead, the name Westie Haven was approved. I continued attending dog shows and breeding seminars to further my knowledge about genetics and other important aspects of breeding.
Thank you for visiting Westie Haven and I look forward to helping you find the perfect puppy for your home.
